Dog Walking on a Sunny Day

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ: FAQ

I'M INTERESTED IN USING YOUR SERVICES, NOW WHAT?

Give me a call or email me, and we'll talk about your pets, their needs, and the times you would like to schedule services so that I can check my availability.

If we agree to go forward, we will schedule a free "Meet and Greet" consultation in your home to introduce myself, connect with you and your animals, and see if it's a good fit for all of us! This consultation is a requirement before I take on any pet care assignment.

This will also be an opportunity for us to go over detailed information about your pet, any specific instructions in caring for them, and your house rules. I will also go over my services, fees, security of your home, and any concerns you may have about the transmission of COVID-19.

This will allow us to establish clear expectations in advance of the first assignment.

In light of COVID-19, we can limit personal interface by going over as much information as possible on the phone, but I would still need to meet your pet at your home, perhaps even meeting outside!

WILL YOU CARE FOR PETS OTHER THAN CATS AND DOGS?

My experience mainly lies with dogs and cats, however if you have a bird that needs care, I would be willing to learn from you! I can also feed your fish, guinea pig, hamsters, or rabbits, given clear instructions.

I will NOT provide care for reptiles, rats, mice, livestock, horses, or spiders. Sorry. NO can do!

HOW MANY DOGS CAN YOU WALK AT ONCE?

Much will depend upon the size and behavior of your dogs, as well as any leash, harness, Gentle Leader or Halti your dogs are accustomed to.

I would need to meet your dogs and evaluate how they walk on a leash, whether they pull extensively or walk alongside easlily, and how they react to people and other dogs.

For instance, two small dogs that pull could be managed, but handling two large dogs at once, may prove to be too difficult, or even dangerous.

DO YOU PROVIDE SERVICE BEYOND THE TOWNS YOU HAVE LISTED?

Right now I have listed the communities of Cheshire, Meriden, Wallingford, North Haven, and Hamden as my service area. However, if I have availability in my schedule, I am willing to do overnight stays in other towns in Central CT. Daily  drop-in visits may be more difficult to work in, unless you are in nearby Southington.

MY PET NEEDS TO GO TO THE VET. WILL YOU TAKE THEM?

I do not take pets to routine appointments.

When we have our "Meet and Greet" consultation, I will speak with you about any medical issues your pet may have, and I will also take your vet's contact information.

I have a Vet Notification Card for you to fill out and sign, which would give me permission take them to your veterinarian in case of emergency. However, you would still need to check with your veterinarian's office to be sure this will be sufficient.

HOW DO I PAY YOU FOR YOUR SERVICES?

I accept cash or check, payable to "Andrea Angerosa". In addition, I will take payments through Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal.

For new clients, payment in cash is due up front (by the day before the house sitting assignment or on the day you leave for your vacation). Repeat clients may leave a check made out to me.

For those who have set up a recurring schedule for dog walking or drop-in visits, I ask to be paid weekly.
